PIERRE PASCUAL
A world of creation, memory, and survival
I was born in Bordeaux, in the south of France, at the end of the last century.
As a child, I participated in my grandfather's Super-8 film shoots. My place was in front of the camera, but I loved to spy on him while he edited his films.
At 8 years old, I started writing short stories. At 13, I recorded my first songs, then I started filming on my own, with my own VHS.
After studying Dramatic Arts and Cinema, I embarked on a career in music as a singer-songwriter. In 2006 I created the group Cartel Couture, before giving birth to a hybrid, performative and musical, queer and radical work called "Chose Chaton".
In 2009 I recovered my real name and started a sound-plastic work which I called "Sound Portraits" (for the 25th anniversary of AIDES), as well as a moving revisitation of my video archives which had several names: "In search of stone" , "Family Portraits", and which aimed to tell my life story in video.
From 2010 to 2014, I created the album and music videos of my teenage dreams , "Premier Amour" (First Love) . Through concerts, singles, and remixes, I tried to live out, at all costs, the dream of the bullied child, secluded in his room, singing and dreaming. This was an opportunity to direct, edit, and produce several of my music videos and to continue experimenting.

In 2017, I began filming my first film, "Hunter Nights" , a cinematic triptych that expresses the life and work of a visual artist in burnout who loses himself in the meanders of his creative and neurodivergent mind.
Since 2021, I have been living and working in Rabat, Morocco, where I am an editor for Éditions Le Sélénite and where I share videos about writing and creation.
Since 2024 I have been working on the project of my life: to bring into the world a series of books inspired by my childhood and adolescence in the 80s and 90s as well as my musical journey in the queer scene of the early 2000s. Because it all started with writing.
